Why is Biblical Cosmology Important?

I’ve spent the last ten months on an island, watching the sky over the ocean every single day… and I can’t unsee it anymore.
What I once accepted as “just the way things are” now stands in direct contradiction to everything the world taught me. The light bending across the horizon, the way it dances with the water and the atmosphere, the rainbows and double rainbows whose colors are exact opposites arching overhead like a reflection of the firmament itself, the crepuscular rays piercing the clouds at sunrise and sunset, Polaris fixed above us with the stars rotating in perfect order, and the moon rising and setting blood-red every single day — all of it lines up with what the King James Bible says, not what modern science insists.
This isn’t theory. This is observation meeting Scripture.
The Bible is not a book of clever parables we can set aside until “heaven proves it.” It is the very foundation of our faith. If the firmament God created on Day Two (Genesis 1:6-8) — “And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters… And God called the firmament Heaven” — if the sun and moon placed as close lights *inside* that firmament “to give light upon the earth” (Genesis 1:14-18), and if the earth that “cannot be moved” (Psalm 93:1, Psalm 96:10, 1 Chronicles 16:30) are all just “dumbed-down stories for our tiny minds,” then we do not have a literal Creator who spoke the world into existence exactly as He declared.
We cannot keep the resurrection and throw out the creation account. It is one Book. One Author. One Truth.
God did not *have* to describe a firmament dividing the waters, lights placed inside the firmament, or a stationary earth that “cannot be moved.” He chose to. And if we dismiss those details, we are saying the Creator did not really create the way He said He did. That is no small thing. That is everything.
Without a literal Genesis we are left with the Big Bang, a spinning ball hurling through a godless universe at over 1,000 mph, a sun 93 million miles away, a moon 250,000 miles away, dinosaurs, planets, space, aliens, millions of years, and galaxies light-years distant. Suddenly the God of the Bible becomes optional, just another ancient story instead of the historical record of creation.
The globe model was not always believed. It was not taught by the early Church. It is not in the Bible. It was introduced in 1543 by Nicolaus Copernicus, only 483 years ago. For thousands of years before that, God’s people understood creation exactly as Genesis describes it. This was no accident. It is part of a deliberate 500-year deception designed to remove God from His creation so we would not need a Savior.
NASA, Hollywood, Disney, the news, textbooks, and so-called “science” have pushed this narrative hard, turning the heavens from declaring God’s glory into random chance floating in infinite space. This is the strong delusion.
The truth is hidden in plain sight on purpose. Only those willing to choose the Bible as their ultimate authority will receive and accept it.
I’ve watched so many of you facing the same cognitive dissonance I once felt, that sick, uneasy feeling in your gut when your eyes and the King James Bible disagree with everything you were taught in school. That internal tension is real. I lived it.
But I’m here to tell you from the other side: once you break through, once you choose the Bible as your final authority and let the Word and what you actually observe in the sky align… that sick feeling turns into a burning passion to tell others the truth. There is incredible peace and freedom on the other side of the programming. You finally see the Creator exactly as He revealed Himself.
“The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork” (Psalm 19:1). “In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun, which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber… His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it” (Psalm 19:4-6). The same God who raised Jesus from the dead is the same God who spoke the firmament into existence on Day Two.
Every part of the Bible is God-breathed and profitable (2 Timothy 3:16). We do not get to dismiss the beginning because it does not line up with what we were taught in school. That is not faith, that is compromise.
The truth about how God created is the very reason we can trust Him with our salvation. If the foundation is shaky, the whole house is in danger.
Are you brave enough to choose the Bible over tradition, the world, and so-called science… or will you choose comfort?
The truth has been right in front of us the whole time. Open Genesis 1 again. Look up at the sky with fresh eyes. Let the Holy Spirit stir you. The heavens are still declaring His glory, and the firmament is still showing His handiwork.
If you feel that discomfort right now — good. Run to the Word, not away from it.
I’m not trying to put God in a box. I’m saying let’s stop putting His Word in a box that only includes the parts that feel comfortable.
The truth matters.
And it’s time to wear it.
In His service and for His glory,
